Dear Sir/Madam,

To provide a better service for visa applicants, the Chinese Embassy has decided to outsource part of the administrative work of its visa processing to the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC). Operated by VFS Global Services Pvt. Ltd., CVASC is a commercial entity completely independent from the Chinese Embassy.

At the beginning, the Chinese Embassy will continue accepting some visa applications submitted by individual ordinary passport holders after the CVASC opens, but these applicants will have to log on the Embassy's Official website to make an on-line appointment before submitting. Applicants without the appointments will not be served. The visa categories include L(Tourism), F(Business), X(Study), Z(Employment), G(Transit), C(Crew), and D(Residence). This will last for a period of time till the date is announced by the Embassy through the due website when all ordinary passport holders shall submit their visa applications to the CVASC.

Holders of diplomatic, service (official) passports, or applicants qualified for the Chinese diplomatic, service, courtesy visas, or journalists and media employees applying for Chinese visa or applicants applying for Hong Kong SAR visa/entry permit or attestation can still submit their applications directly to the Embassy without making online appointments.

The CVASC will charge every applicant an additional amount of service fees other than the visa fees to be collected on behalf of the Embassy, regardless of approval or rejection of his or her application by the Embassy. The normal service fee is Rs.510 (inclusive of service tax) per passport. The next working day (express) service fee is Rs.660 (inclusive of service tax).
